I have installed Alpha User points on my site and it looks like it will be a great addition. Now I'm trying to work out how to show users' points all over the site, this includes JComments All registered users have a number of points and I'm wondering if this number can be displayed in each comment in (brackets) after the username. I'm sure this will be some reasonably easy template hack but I don't know how to do it. If anyone can help I will buy you a donut when we meet.

and also, if anyone has any idea how to make an aup rule so that votes on comments = a point for the user who posted the comment, then I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

Some time ago I made simple plugin which can add points to user for any comment post, you can get it here: plg_jcomments_alphauserpoints_j15_v.1.1.zip. But I'm not sure that it would work on current version of AlphaUserPoints - I made it about 4-5 months ago...

Hi Smart
Thanks for the plug in to use with Alphauserpoints. Much much much needed :-)
I've installed it with no problem, and enabled everything from the Plugin Backend.....but upon commenting, no points are added.
Just wanted to quickly check, if there's anything more that needs to be done to maybe get it working?
Or is it meant to work automatically without much backend intervention? I'll await to see what you think, and then I'll post in the Alpha forums to see what they reckon.
Thanks heaps

same for me I installed the plugin but no idea of how to add a jcomment rule in aup. It would be great to have this feature on my site, so I"d much appreciate if someone has an idea.

Thx for your file, it works !
It can be installed in alphauserpoints control panel >>> rules >>> new >>> upload and install the xml file.
The rules in your file assigns points when a user adds a comment.
Actually I am trying to add a point when a user has a positive feedback, and to substract a point for a negative feedaback on his comment.
I did not find a way to do it, so I dont know if it's possible ??

When I made this plugin AUP did't support decreasing points. If it now supports I can update plugin...

I think it is now supported since there is a rule that allows to remove points for inactive users after a preset period.
It is also posssible for admins to remove points for a specific user.

Would really like the option to add points when a comment gets a thumbs up, and take away a point when a comment gets a thumbs down.
Any progress made on this ?
