We do the best to make JComments better and better, so widely integration with 3rd party extensions is JComments "cheat" and a lot of peoples love it for such features.

Well, here you may write requests concerning JComments avatar plugin and assist us to getting it enhanced.

For now the plugin has next integration:

  • CommunityBuilder
  • JomSocial
  • Gravatar
  • Contacts
  • IDoBlog
  • Agora Forum
  • JooBB Forum
  • FireBoard Forum
  • iJoomla Magazine
  • vBulletin
  • Blogomunity p8pbb bridge (phpBB3)
  • phpBB3 JFusion bridge

Feel free to help us enhance this list or just write a requests on some extensions which will be useful to integrate with JComments.

Hello mate,

I want to point out that phpBB avatar and profile link integration with Jcomments is for all bridges: JFusion, RokBridge (my setup), Blogomunity and more (I guess).

Good Day,
Danny

Ok, I'll add this in next plugin's version

At this moment I'm searching the way to make this with less SQL-queries. For all other extension we need to have only one extra query. With JFusion we need one query per user. This is too much...

Also you can try this extension: DAvatar for JComments. This plugin supports JFusion but have the problem I've described - it use extra queires.

Thank you very much Smiley

It works, so you saved my day Smiley. I can use it untili You solve  sql queries problem.

I've got some questions about this. If i set 5 comments on page, there will be 5 more sql queries? Or it not depends of comments number per page?

Is it only jfusion problem or also other bridges like rokbridge?

The queries count is equal to number of unique registered users has wrote comments to the article.

With RokBridge situation is quite better.

300 comments from 300 users? Or 300 comments from 100 or less users? You can check queries count by enabling debug in Joomla settings.

I will try to find some free time and look again to current JFusion version. May I could find more correct solution.

sorry for late reply (i was unavailable for few days)

sometimes i've got one comment per user, so it's possible to have 300 comments frm 300 users, but in most cases users repeats - so there will be less queries (i supposed there is 1 additional query per user)

Hi,

it would be really nice to have a really easy plugin option like "local files only".

When set the avatar plugin to "local files only" the plugin should only check a folder (e.g. /images/stories/avatars/*) if there is file for the username in there (e.g. admin.jpg for the admin user of joomla). Is admin.jpg there show the file if not show no_avatar.png like it is as default.

Is this possible?

The plugin no longer works with the last version of Jomsocial.
