Hide comment form after send?
«

Hi,
New to Joomla (2.5) and JComments (2.3), and am loving both of them.
I currently have the 'Comment Form - Default' set to 'Hide if any comments exists', which works great for me but when I add a new comment and hit send, the comment form stay visible. Is there a setting where the comment form would go away after a user hit send successfully
Thanks
Steve

I do not see any reason to hide form after user sent comment. Initially comments form is not present in the page source, when user presses 'Add comment' the JComments' code loads the form from server and inserts it to page. But after comment has been sent this form is already on page - for which reason we have to hide it? May be user wants post another comment in short time.

Thanks for the reply, however I disagree with you.
I can't image that someone would want to add another comment right after just adding one. I believe there is even a setting for that which prevent users from doing just that. Also I allow users to edit the existing comment which I would rather they do then create a new comment which say 'oops I forgot....'
Also, as a user myself, my expectation after a performing as task, i.e. adding a comment, that the interface returns the way it was.. which is without a comment box in front of me.
Again these are my opinions as a user and what I would expect, surely you can't argue with users now can you? ;-)
Anyway I will assume this is not possible for now and just live with it until I can find a workaround or another option
Thanks for your help

I've about 20 huge databases with comments (I got them from JComments users) and I've counted sequent comments within one article from one user - they are not so rare as you think. About 15% of articles have sequences of 2 or more comments from one user. Very often these comments from guests who has no permissions to edit their comment and if he remembered something after he had posted comment he posts new comment.
But if this is so important for you (and some other users - I have already got same questions from 2-3 users) - I will add this suggestion into my TODO's list and it will be implemented in future versions.
