Has anyone found a solution to auto subscribe the K2 author to comments made on their articles like Smart did with the below 1.5 plugin?

Anyone able to make this work with K2 and Joomla 2.5?  Cheesy

Maybe this bug fix, since this bug would only allow autosubscribe on Joomla content:
[SOLVED]AutoSubscribe doesn't send e-mails to third-party component owner.
