Ok I'm updating my site and I still wanna use jComment but I also want to have Facebook comments, now naturally I can't have two separate comment boxes .

Could u possibly add a tab on the Comment box to switch between jComment and Facebook

I saw on some sites that users are placed JComments and Facebook comments in some kind of tabs on their sites. In my mind they are using some plugin for creating these tabs.

why not donate first...appreciation does not pay bill...if you donate first..maybe it will give motivation...and above all smart is the only developer lets all show some appreciation by donating..

Because of the lack of an update in over a year and until recently complete lack of support. Ive felt really reluctant to donate, i know that sounds mean but it doesn't give me much sense how dedicated he is to his product.

I know this developer and he is going to add JComments support in his plugin. Some time ago we have discussed this feature and had searched solution to make this more easy. I will ask him again make this in nearest future.

Because of the lack of an update in over a year and until recently complete lack of support.
Every man has hard periods in his life and sometime we can not make something even if we really want to do this. Regarding support - we did not had it for 6 weeks, but before this we had support for a long time (and completly free). Usually I am trying to answer any questions ASAP (except weekends or holydays).

 i am not against you mate..you have every right to do and speak what you want...

and to Smart thanx again..and please talk to the developer it will be an amazing feature..best of luck

Ok so here is my proposal for this situation. If one is able to place jcomments in content with a simple {jcomments} tag, this is more than possible!!!

So here's how it works, if you use the extension n3tTemplate as seen here:
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/edition/editor-buttons/15910

You can have automatically generated text at the end of your content. Now for the tabs, you can have tabs using the extension called "Tabber" as seen here:
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-display/contents-panel/14493
(you can use any tab system you want for this, even page break)

So now in n3ttemplate you would have it automatically display at the end of your content with this syntax:
{tab=Article Comments}
{jcomments}
{tab=Facebook Comments}
Facebook comment inserted
{/tabs}
This would automatically put it at the bottom of your article. It would work well!

Notice I said "If one is able to put Jcomments in a code". So here is the current situation, Smart plans on releasing Jcomments 1.7 as the top priority. After that, perhaps then we can talk Smart into making a "{jcomments}" code that inserts the comments. The current editor button only turns Jcomments on and off. My method mentioned above actually inserts Jcomments into the tabs themselves. So we all must have patience for this feature/idea.

I'm by no means a php expert but do happen to have some code that has a very good chance of doing this. When J comments 1.7 is finished, I'll have to send out this proposal to smart. This would also enable you do to do many other things like display comments at the beginning of your article (not sure why one would do this, but you could) and place comments in a module position!
