How the work is going? Could you tell us a date of release?

Also need to know date of release, as we are in the process of upgrading.
The only component that is not 1.6 or 1.7 compatible is JComments.
Our company is going to Donate to you as we feel it is the best commenting system out there.
Thank you for all of your efforts.  Grin

P.S. We are also willing to be a tester for you.

Guys, I’ve read through similar topic on Russia forum version (where Smart is much more active) and it’s pretty clear that he won’t release public beta. This is his decision, he won’t change and we have to respect it. I would love to have beta version myself (my  1.7 upgrade is on hold just because of JComments), but I have to say that I don’t disagree with Smart’s decision… This is pretty popular component, beta would spread around very quickly, people would start installing it on live sites (won’t hide – I would do the same...), and then, inevitably, he would have lost of complaints that something is not working, bad reviews, etc…

Good news is that work is very much in progress. There is no ETA yet, but hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer. For those who can’t wait Smart suggest installing yvComment, Udja Comments or RSComments, and when JComments is released it will be able to import comments from these systems without any issues.

Thanks for your answer.

I am looking for a commenting system for EventList in Joomla 1.7. The other commenting systems are not working with Eventlist, right?

I hope it will be weeks (I am not sure about one week but will try). Initially I was going to release it before november. But now I see that I am a bit late and I do my best to return to my initial plans

@developer
I checked on all commeting modules, even commercial ones. I think there is nothing out there like your module. Even though I haven't used it yet, it looks very professional. I will use this extension for a friends homepage that I'm setting up at the moment. I will wait for 1.7 support to be released. Donation, no problem...I think it's worth it Wink Great work...

PS: JomSocial Avatar integration...JomSocial 2.4 is stable with Joomla 1.7.2 and the next release will be very professional...I am a pretty busy BETA tester with JomSocial

Question: is it possible to use the Joomla Editor with JComments?

Take care...
