Hey guys,

just a short question: Do we need all languages for roll out a release for Joomla 1.7?

Wouldn't it be better to roll out the new version and update languages later?

I wait for using the new version for eventlist. Will it work together?

Thanks a lot for good work.

Agreed! We don't need every single thing before the release of jcomments 1.7.  Wink

Hi Smart, good to see you back,

There is a great online tool for managing translations here:

https://www.transifex.net/start/

It is free for GPL projects, and it will read Joomla ini files, and then allow other users to add a translation team and translate the strings, and then it will generate the new ini file.

There is a Joomla group set up to do some translations here:

http://opentranslators.org/

I used to do translations for my extension manually by emailing language files, and I can't express how much easier it is to have tranifex manage the translations online.

Regards,

Matt.

We are not waiting all languages for release. But while I am finishing work on component and its modules this is good time to update translations. I am not going to release component without modules (at least JComments Latest) or basic translations.

Wouldn't it be better to roll out the new version and update languages later?
There are many users who want to use this extension but doesn't speak english or some other language which is already updated. We must remember about them too...

As I wrote before I do my best to release JComments ASAP. I am very grateful to all users who offer me help with translation or have already helped. Be patient and in nearest time we will get the new version of our lovely extension Wink I am not going to  loose time for implementation of some unimportant features. But I am sure that you  want to get high-quality and stable extension so stay tuned.

I used to do translations for my extension manually by emailing language files, and I can't express how much easier it is to have tranifex manage the translations online.
Thank you Matt, but I will try to use it with next version (because now I do not have enough free time to learn how this works).

And some words about development process. For last week we've updated 3 translations (Turkish, Romanian, Hungarian)  and fixed 1 bug. Create first version of new module JCommens Latest Commented which allows to show list of most commented objects - not only from com_content as it was in old versions, but from any extension where JComments is integrated. So you will be able to show list of most commented items from K2 or VirtueMart. Started work on new version of JComments latest... Stay tuned!

K2 JComments plugin will work with new version of JComments as it works with current version (JComments 2.2). But I am going to make additional tests with K2 2.5.0...

Thank you! At this moment all new strings already translated by Giuse Covino. But before public release I will send pre-release build for all translators to make additional translation review.

I can not remember all extensions supported by JComments but if JComments works with EventList at this time - new version will work too...
