The old templates will work, but with some limitations. There are new features in JComments2.3 that will be missing in the old templates. Localization will not work either. You should update your template.

JComments project has only one developer - me, so I could not support users and prepare new releases at one time. Today I am going to release minor update for JComments component which includes more than 20 fixes and some new features (comments import from EasyBlog, new plugins for JoomLeague, support for JoomFish 2.2.3 and etc). After this I will return to work on additional plugins and modules.

If you use JComments, please post a rating and a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory!

Also I want to remember all JComments users that there is many translations which are almost ready and only some strings remain untranslated. I would be very appreciated if you will help with translation. Visit our translation project on Transifex.net: JComments. To take part in translation you have to register on Transifex.net and join appropriate translation team of OpenTranslators project (JComments has now own translation teams and uses OpenTranslators' teams).

thank you so much for your work

I have a small suggestion regarding the comment rating feature. Currently all ratings are summed up together with the sum displayed. Is it possible to separate negative and positive comments like the comments we know in WordPress? It would be awesome if we can choose if we want the rating to be displayed the normal way and to be displayed like WordPress comments (number of likes and dislikes).

Does this update you are talking about include excluding some categories from Jcomments latest? Thanks
