well, the fact is we want to display the comments categorized and jcomments save the comments according to component not category.

this is how we want it.


let's say we have 2 categories
doctors
farmers

we want people to comment on entries in doctors and farmers category

but the comments module should only display the comment on doctors in the doctors category and on comments which are on the farmers entries in the farmers categories.

NOTE: we still need people to comment on entries and not categories.
but we need to display the comments according to category they are in.

Ok, so this question related to JComments Latest module and not for JComments component... In this case your task could be resolved by creating new module only. Because JComments Latest couldn't filter comments this way (it couldn't determine what category current entrie belongs)

unfortunately no...

It does not matter. In SOBI2 each entry can belong to several categories, and if we know the ID of entry, we can get a list of categories to which it belongs. But just such behavior does not correspond to the JComments Latest module logic. This reason I say that solution is creating some new module.

In my mind this is must be the module for JComments which will support described features (module must be able to determine current entry's category and display comments from same category only).
