Hello

I have Sobi 2.9.2.3, and I have just installed JComments SOBI2 Plugin v.1.5

The Jcomments plugin for Sobi2 is not working for me. I have detailed below the methods I have used to configure Jcomments.

Configuration Method One
I copied the sobi2.details.tmpl.php from the zip file "sobi2_jcomments_v1.5.zip" and placed in my root directory /components/com_sobi2/sobi2.details.tmpl.php

I added the code <?php echo $plugins['jcomments']; ?> to my sobi2 template which is located using the following path:   /components/com_sobi2/templates/standard_advanced. The template name is also called sobi2.details.tmpl.php

Configuration Method Two
I tried just copying the sobi2.details.tmpl.php from the zip file "sobi2_jcomments_v1.5.zip" and placed in my root directory /components/com_sobi2/sobi2.details.tmpl.php

Configuration Method Three
I tried just adding the code <?php echo $plugins['jcomments']; ?> to my sobi2 template which is located using the following path: /components/com_sobi2/templates/standard_advanced. The template name is also called sobi2.details.tmpl.php

Configuration Method Four
I tried just adding the code <?php echo $plugins['jcomments']; ?> to my Joomla 1.5 template.

Configuration Method Five
I have installed the joomla 1.5 module component for jcomments and I tried running jcomments in conjunction with all of the methods outlined above.

Please can someone show me what I am doing wrong. I would love to be able to use this plugin on my site.

Kind regards

jo

Does jcomments work at all with Sobi2 2.9.2.3?

I have tried re-installing jcomments and following the installation instructions word for word, and it does not work.

Any help please? Thanks

There is no need to copy anything. Just install plugin in sobi2 admin panel, and paste that line of code in YOUR sobi2 template, sobi2.details.tmpl.php.

Maybe you have a problem with sobi2 cache function.

Every time you change something in sobi2 template, just empty cache ih sobi2 admin panel. (and joomla cache too, but most important is sobi2 admin and cache)

Sobi2 can be difficult to work with sometimes, regarding template. Sometime is no change visible unless you empty sobi2 cache (don´t mix it with joomla cache)

And i forgot, allways do a hard reset of browser, Ctrl+F5.

Hi bbc

Thank u for your replies. I had parked jcomments to one side while I continued to work on other areas of my site which is currently hosted locally on my laptop.

My apologies, I had been expecting a different interface to the Sobi2 review plugin. I was recently testing what I thought was the Sobi2 review plugin and noticed that Jcomments is working seemlessly with the interface of Sobi2 and my Sobi2 template which is fantastic!

As suggested in your post I did need to clean out my cache in Sobi2.

To the developer (is that u bbc?), thanks for an awesum extension and support forum which is worthy of a positive review 5/5.

Many thanks

jo
