OK, I went through the config several times but didn't find what I was looking for:

I want on all pages only the link to add a comment and the number of existing comments to show up, but not the whole comment itself.

On the start page there is only the link and in brackets the number of existing comments. But on all other pages the comment is showing up in full version under the article. Can this be changed?

The links are displayed in blog mode and comments list with form in full article view... And there is no mode to hide comments list on full article view.
