I just installed the jcomments component (v2.2.0.2) and it seems to work quite well. just the links on my front pages / blog-layout-pages to write new comments dont work - simply nothing happens. the underlying links generated correctly and are working when opened in a new tab of the browser. the problem seems to be the template - the links work when I switch to one of the default templates but they dont work for "mozaix" based on the "ja t3 framework" demo & download: http://www.styleware.eu/joomla-templates/14-mozaix-free-joomla-15-business-templateare there any known issues using jcomments with t3 based templates? I'd really appreciate any hint where/how to analysing or to solve the problem thanks |

I have just checked and works fine for me.
Test configuration:
Joomla 1.5.22
JComments 2.2.0.2
Mozaix - free Business Joomla! template (JA T3 Framework 1.1.7)

I reinstalled joomla, jcomments all other plugins and modules as before... and everything works fine... damn it.
I guess something f*cked up during some tryouts of several extensions - I'll rebuild the site from the scratch and keep the buggy one as a playground / test environment.

I made a clean reinstall, jcomments work on front page, but not on sites of type "Articles » Category / Blog"

Make sure that you've enabled comments in category you try to see comments links. May be you have forgot to enable some category. Also try to clean Joomla's content cache because these links could be cached with content.

comments are enabled and the links are also visible - they simply don't work when clicked.
"open link in new tab" works correctly.
with disabled javascript the links works too - maybe some event-handling issue in this type of layout?

sorry, but the site is still running on a local server adn I'm not at home to take a screenshot. the problem is: the links are rendered in blog-layout-view <div class="jcomments"><a href="correct-link-to-article#comments">add comment</a></div> but nothing happens at the onclick-event |

You would think that yes. But I've got the same problem. Also got jat3 system and Mozaix template running on Joomla 1.5.22. Only the Jcomments in the standard Joomla blog, doesn't work. Emptying cache helped a little for me. I'm not very shore, but at first "open link in new tab" didn't work for me and the 2nd post on non-blog items (FrontPage) didn't work either. After clear the cache, this is working better. |

That’s true and now i know what the problem was! I activated SearchEngingeFriendly-URL's since yesterday and the problem was gone. Just deactivated and there it was again. So,, problem solved: activate SEF-URL's in global settings. |

I still think the problem is caused by some JS... maybe I'll manage to get back on it this weekend...
Yep, it's a javascript bug. In IE8 i disabled 'active scripting' and 'java-applets' and the links works fine. |
