Hello,

I followed the guidelines in the russian forum here:

http://joomlaforum.ru/index.php/topic,41316.msg703665.html#msg703665

I can see "Add new comment" command but when I click it I get wrong url error:

http://www.e-hayalet.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=#addcomments

Any idea?

Cool.

I found a russian site who explains how to make integration. And the cool thing is you don't have to make all those changes which are highly prone to making typo mistake because it is possible to download the modified files.

Russian people are brilliant people but they don't have any idea on marketing..JComments is a very good component but the owners don't promote it..

That changes I am referring to, could have been put somewhere in the download section as zip file.

Anyway, these change worked for me on latest MyBlog version, Ver. 3.0.x something and JComments 2.1..

Here is the link:

http://blog.bcmk.ru/myblog/integratsiya-komponeta-my-blog-s-komponentom-kommentariev-jcomments.html

I have attached the zip of modified files, just in case..

One thing still remains tough; Latest comment module doesn't show comments written in MyBlog..

I hope someone can solve this issue too..

This  extension is developed and supported by only one person - me. I have not enough time for promotion or marketing. Besides my English isn't so good to promote JComments on English. But as I when I reading JComments reviews on JED I see that there are many satisfied users and JComments becomes more and more popular.

In nearest future I will release new JComments version with many new features, enhancements and  bugfixes.  Also upcoming version will have Joomla 1.6 support.

That changes I am referring to, could have been put somewhere in the download section as zip file.
I couldn't do it for two reasons:
1. The MyBlog isn't freeware extension and I can't redistribute any part of it
2. In this case we will be needed to have files for all versions. And after this the users of other extensions would ask about sharing modified version of other extensions. This isn't so good idea...

I hope someone can solve this issue too..
Thank you for sharing it!

Oh, I didn't think about those complications..I guess you are right in some respects..

I guess the really good products would find t appreciations it deserves anyway.

I am really impressed and amazed by Jcomments. When I first saw its incredible all-in-one-module I said to myself this is it..But lots of integration jobs scared me..So I didn't want to switch..After feeling fed up with JomComments without any upgrade in years, I finally took up the challenges of all those integration..Now I regret that I didn't switched to it long ago.

Even if JomComment would finally release their version 4, I don't think it would be as good..

I sincerely thank you for creating such a great  free tool all by yourself.

I wish we would have a "People with most Comment" module and an JomSocial activity alert for voting up/down..Total voting score as percantage would be much better..I guess we would have these features in time...Great work..

Even if you make this commercial, I'll buy it..

Regards.

On our russian forum I posted link to Top Posters module which is used on demo.joomlatune.com. This is not final version but it could be used for testing. I can not say anything about more full JomSocial integration because I do not have this extension and I do not use it. On our russian forum where are large topic about JComments and JomSocial integration and where are some plugins for it.

Even if you make this commercial, I'll buy it..
Do not worry I am not gonna make it commercial...

Hello,

Absolutely wonderful guide, thanks for posting up.

JComments is so powerful, I really want to use it but full integration/migration from Azrul's JomComments and Myblog is stopping me right now.

Myblog comments work right now but not as tightly as JomComments+Myblog combo.

The main things missing:
1. Any way to let a blogger moderate comments themselves via the dashboard, or let a blogger/author receive a copy of the moderation email that allows them to click unpublish? (doesn't have to use Myblog API, since the author's email addresses are included in the normal registered User/author table).

2. I haven't yet been able to check but has anyone managed to get Myblog Jcomments to show in the Latest Comments module?

If those two things can be sorted, I think I'll be ready to migrate.

Jcomments is beautifully coded, customisable and elegant. Can't wait!

Ps: Another minor point: right now migrating from JomComments to JComments doesn't migrate the 'votes' per comment. This seems to be fairly simple as both SQL databases are very similar, but if you could try to code this into the migrator it'd be very helpful and stop me breaking my database. If you need to know the structure of the JomComment voting database, please let me know and I will be happy to assist.

I am using MyBlog Version: 3.0.332 and JComments 2.2.0.2
I have tried with the files that are provided and no success.

When I replace all given files I get the link below the article add comment but it leads to nowhere.
If I change the plugin file I get error on the page!

Please some solution I need this!
