Are we allowed to remove it or is it against the license rules?

I could not forbid you to remove this link because this extension is free and open source. You have installed it on your site and you able to do what you want with it. You can change it any way you needed.

This extension is developing and supported by only one person. Without any fees or donations (for 3 years only $45 were donated)  for it . I spend all my free time to work on this extension and I'd like to see this link on sites which use JComments.

These links are helping me to know how many sites are used JComments and this information makes me sure that this extension is useful and popular. This gives me the energy needed to work on new versions. You could remove this link but this will not help to me develop and support this extension.

In very rare cases I can refuse support (or process requests with lowest priority) for users who removed this link.

I'd like to remove the footer from the component. I've searched through all of the php files and can't seem to find any instance of the footer in the coding, but I'm no master coder.

I've also looked through the forum, and though the question has been asked plenty of times, the developer hasn't provided an answer as to HOW to get rid of the footer, just that it is possible.

So, my question. How do I remove the footer? Where in the coding can I go to delete it?

Make some subscription registration for some extra, fancy plugins for Jcomments ? And divide forum at open and closed for subscribers parts.

I subscribe for JCE editor plugins every year. For only 30 $ (20$ renewal) it is worth it.
I like JCE because there is no limit in how many domains you can use JCE and subscription plugins.

To implement this I need to have full featured PayPal account but in Ukraine PayPal doesn't allow to recieve any payments. I can only buy something via PayPal but couldn't recieve. But anycase I won't make JComments commercial...

I like to maintain the copyright link! Let's give the author credit for his work.

I agree. If you haven't paid for it then give the author credit. It is the least you can do.
