I recently chmoded my entire site back to more reasonable security settings (644 for files and 755 for folders), except now I cannot change any JComment configuration settings. I changed the entire com_jcomments folder to 777, including all files, but this did not work. Is there another place I'm missing that I need to set proper permissions?

The JComments doesn't uses files to store settings - they are stored in database. So if you've some issues with save settings they could be releated to AJAX (JComments uses AJAX to store component's settings). I need access to your site's backend to help you. If you can give me it - contact me via PM.
