Hello there.

I've been using JComments and I find it a wonderful plugin. There's just one problem I found, when the users post new comments on an article, if the comments are configured to be approved before, there is no clear indication to the user that the comment was posted. Is there a way to add a "Thank you for your comment" message after the user posts the comment? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

JS

Are you mean to send them some kind of email notification?

No, just something like "Your comment has been posted" appearing on the webpage after the comment has been posted. Is there a way to configure this? Or do I need to know how to dig into the PHP?

If autopublishing is enabled such message would be dispalyed. But if comment must be approved by administratrator we couldn't show this message to user because we don't know then it happen (I mean approving). User could post comment at morning and admin approve it at the evening. User will not wait all this time on the same page. If you want to say Thank you to user after comment has been approved I see only one way - add email notification for this.

Actually, I think I haven't described the problem well.

The problem is that, when a user clicks "Submit" after writing the comment, the comment is sent but the textbox remains on the page, and there is no indication that the comment has been sent. I can see the comment from the backend, which indicates that the comment has been sent, but the user keeps on with the form in the page as if the comment had not been sent. This makes him reload the captcha multiple times, as there is no indication that the comment was sent - he thinks he failed the captcha, so repeats.

What I wanted was a way of making the form disappear and say something like "The comment was posted", just to indicate to the user that the text was sent and he need not re-submit it. This is happening with and without autopublishing.

Which JComments version do you use? The JComments 2.2.0.2 shows message 'Thank you, your comment will be published once reviewed.' after comment sent. It appears in the comments form and fade out after some time...

Actually, I'm using JComments Version 2.1.0.0, which should explain it. I'll try to install the newest version and see the results.
