Hi,

I am currently running joomla 1.5.20 with the ja_purity_II template.
I installed few days ago Jcomments 2.0.0.4 and it used to work fine but as I saw that it was not the latest version I decided to upgrade to 2.2.0.2.
Since then guest users cannot see the comments anymore.  They can see that there is a comment on an article, can click on the link to the comment but then see the article without any comment.
Furthermore even if the add comment fields are available and can be filled in when clicking on "Enregistrer" (sorry the site is in french..) the comment is not stored (auto publish is ticked).
I notice the same behaviour with the registered users except for the super administrator.
I try to uninstall and re-install Jcomments but it did not fix the pb...
Could you please help me to solve this big issue ?

thank you very much (I have to say that I become crazy with that  Cry )

You couldn't upgrade 2.0.0.4 to 2.2.0.2 correctly. You need update 2.0.0.4 to 2.1.0.0 and after this install 2.2.0.2. Because JComments 2.2.0.2 has no update code for 2.0...

Hi Smart,

Thank you for your answer.
So if I understand well in order to solve my problem I should:
- uninstall version 2.2.0.2 via the install/uninstall joomla menu
- install the version 2.1.0.0
- re-install the version 2.2.0.2

Am I right ?

rgds,

Hi Smart,

Sorry but it does not work  Sad
I tried to go back to version 2.0 and could then see the comments  Cheesy
But as soon as I installed version 2.1 the comments disappear...   Sad
I then go back to version 2.0 --> comments are visible...  Smiley
then uninstall version 2.0 and install version 2.1 --> comments disappear again ...  Angry

any other idea ?

thanks

Are you tried to update to JComments 2.2 after upgrading to 2.1? Show me you site please (via PM) and give me access to site's backend if you could. I updated JComments 2.0 to latest version many times and never had any problems with it.

Hi Smart,

Finally I have found that the problem come from the security plugin jHackGuard.
I desactivated it and now I can see the comments.
Seems that since Jcomments 2.1 there is a compatibility issue with jHackGuard.
Any chance to solve this ?

thank you

Hm... I think you need to ask jHackGuard's authors because their extension was released after JComments...
