I've made new version of JComments - AlphaUserPoints plugin. It allows to assign points for next actions:

1. Assign points when a user adds a comment
2. Assign points to the author when his comment has been deleted
3. Assign points to the author when his comment has been published
4. Assign points to the author when his comment has been unpublished
5. Assign points to the author when the comment has got positive vote
6. Assign points to the author when the comment has got negative vote
7. Assign points when a user votes a comment

To use this plugin you wil need make follows:

1. Download attached archive
2. Install it as Joomla's extension
3. Publish plugin
4. Unpack this archive and then install AUP rules from 'rules' folder througth AUP's plugin installer
5. Setup and publish AUP rules for JComments

I've tested this plugin with Joomla 1.5.18, JComments 2.2.0.0 and AUP 1.5.9. And with this environment all works fine for me.

Any questions or suggestions are welcome!

Hello,

I just installed this and set everything up, but it doesn't give points to a user when their comments get thumbs up!

Do you know what is happening?

Hi,

Can you add the link in description so it may appear in the module of Last Activity of AUP.

Here's an example how kunena plugin shows the link of the commented topic:

Could you send me this plugin? I'll see how they fill this description. I thought that it must use description from AUP rules.

Hi Smiley

Here is the code they use.
Code:
// START MODIF ALPHAUSERPOINTS : Insert AlphaUserPoints rules
// ****************************************************************************
$api_AUP = JPATH_SITE.DS.'components'.DS.'com_alphauserpoints'.DS.'helper.php';
if ( file_exists($api_AUP))
{
require_once ($api_AUP);
// construct link to display link in activity
$aup_linktotopic = "index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=$catid&id=$pid";
$referencetopic = "<a href=\"" . JRoute::_($aup_linktotopic) . "\">" . $subject . "</a>";
if ( $thread == 0 )
{
// FIRST RULE : rule for post a new topic
AlphaUserPointsHelper::newpoints( 'plgaup_newtopic_kunena', '', $pid, $referencetopic );
}
else
{ // optional : limit assign points only if message > 80 characters
    if ( strlen($message)>80 ) {
// SECOND RULE : rule for post a reply to a topic
AlphaUserPointsHelper::newpoints( 'plgaup_reply_kunena', '', $pid, $referencetopic );
} else {
global $mainframe;
// TODO : custom message -> translation design a new language variable in Kunena!
$mainframe->enqueueMessage(JText::_( 'Points not assigned because your response is too short.' ));
}
  }
}
// ****************************************************************************
// end insertion AlphaUserPoints rules

Instead of

Code:
AlphaUserPointsHelper::newpoints( 'plgaup_newtopic_kunena', $pid );

They call the link to the topic using

Code:
$aup_linktotopic = "index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=$catid&id=$pid";
$referencetopic = "<a href=\"" . JRoute::_($aup_linktotopic) . "\">" . $subject . "</a>";

And then they add to to the AlphaUserPointsHelper this:

Code:
AlphaUserPointsHelper::newpoints( 'plgaup_newtopic_kunena', '', $pid, $referencetopic );

Hope you can do it Cheesy

Thanks in advance

Be patient, please. I'm alone developer and I can't do everything at once. This is freeware and I can't provide 24/7 support. I've read your message, download AUP documentation but I've not make new version of plugin yet.

Sorry for my lack of patient. It was not intended to rush your development in any way. I only wanted to know if you had read the last post. Smiley

Thanks in advance

Of course! I've subscribed to all posts on this forum and read them every day. But there are too much posts and sometime I forget to answer all of them Wink I alredy have a large russian forum so it is not very easy to answer on all topics.

I'm going to make new version of current plugin on this week. I'll post here then it would be ready.

Could you provide more detailed information about used versions of Joomla, JComments and AUP?

Hello, I'm using joomla 1.5.20, alphauserpoint 1.5.9 and jcomment 2.2.0

1. Assign points when a user adds a comment (Works Fine)
2. Assign points to the author when his comment has been deleted (Works Only in Frontend)
3. Assign points to the author when his comment has been published (Doesn't Work)
4. Assign points to the author when his comment has been unpublished (Doesn't Work)
5. Assign points to the author when the comment has got positive vote (Not Tested)
6. Assign points to the author when the comment has got negative vote (Not Tested)
7. Assign points when a user votes a comment (Doesn't Work)

Will be amazing if you can develope a rule that gives points to the author when his article is commented Smiley

Many Thanks
