Hello, I'm having a problem which should be nonexistent since JComments works with CommunityBuilder and vice-versa.  Maybe it's not a bug, but I don't know how to set it up correctly.

CommunityBuilder avatars, that is avatars uploaded by users through the CB plugin, do not show up as avatars in the JComments.  I have looked everywhere for options to solve this and the only thing I can see that's remotely close to solving the problem is editing the permissions in JComments to "Show Gravatar" but all this does is display a universal default pic, not the avatars chosen by users through CommunityBuilder.

Also, a side question, is it possible for profile names shown in JComments to be linkable, preferably back to their profiles?

That's all, thank and good work! Wink

Hi everyone,

I have installed Jcomments and also JComments Avatars and CB JComments Tab v.1.6.

All are installed but i have a problem with one of them.

Jcomments Avatars says that it enables the ability for my users CB Avatar to be displayed in comments and when clicked on people are then directed to their CB profile.

Sounds great, but i cant for the life of me figure this out, i have read the documentation countless times and it says i should have an option called common avatars which replaces the default Gravatar option but i dont have this, i still have Gravater!

I would love to get this working, has anybody else had experience with this? its a great comment system and i would hate to have to lose it.

Please help if you can!

1. Check Permissions tab for each usergroup (Gravatar support must be enabled)
2. Check General tab (Enable plugins -> Yes)
3. Check JComments Avatar parameters (select avatar source)

Ok, all settings are right. What CB version do you use?

Are you logged on frontend or no? If no, do you set permissions to Unregistered to view Gravatars?

Solved! (for me, but maybe it helps you too.)

When you developing with joomla you're mostly logged in as 'Superadministrator'. So you have to set the permissions also for Superadmin in JComments >> Settings >> User rights.
Once Gravatar was allowed for superadmin, it worked for me.
