Hello,

I am using the commercial component Jreviews (reviews and ratings).

I'm not happy with its discussion system, and would love to complement it with jcomments, so members could have side discussions.

By now, jcomments is showing up at the bottom of the page, and what I need is to use it into a tabbed jreviews content (see this test page, I'd like jcomments to appear under the "disscussion & commenetaires" tab).

Here is a short discussion with the jreviews developper on his forum : http://www.reviewsforjoomla.com/forum/index.php?topic=9510.0

I don't know if JComment in particular is compatible with JReviews, but many users have done what you describe with and without tabs. You just need to be able to add a tag for the comment plugin in the theme file in order to place it in a tab. Many comment plugins simply append the comments to the bottom of the article without allowing you to place it where you want, like inside a tab.

I'm wondering whereas it needs a special third party extension or just a code line for jcomments to be inserted in my jreviews theme file ?

Thanks for helping

Ok, found a hack in another topic :

http://www.joomlatune.com/forum/index.php/topic,759.msg2740.html#msg2740

It works, but only when the {jcomments} tag is inside the article content.

When in a custom field, it does not work and so I cant put my comments where Iwant on my jreviews page.  Sad

Hi,
If possible, I am also interested in an elegant integration with JReviews and am willing to work on it given some ideas as regarding the implementation of such an integration. The only comment component that can integrate with JReviews right now is JomComments, and I would very much prefer to use JComments (it has far better features than JomComments and best of all its free). So if possible, please let me know how to implement an integration (I have made customizations to JReviews themes before but I have not found time to understand the mechanics of JComments yet).
Thanks a lot,

This one is in Sobi2.
It is easy to parse third party plugins in Sobi2, in tabs.

You can have Jreviews and Jcomments as separate extensions in Sobi2 tabs. Outside for visitor it would appear as one compact extension.

Look here:
http://www.sigsiu.net/forum/community-board-for-tips-tricks/integrate-magic-tabs-(core-design)-in-sobi2/

for hints.

A had even custom fields that way that was populated automatically in tabs.
In this case you don´t even to bother with this. Just put plugin code of these 2 extension in template file, and everything is managed automatically. No need for populating any fields. (nor to work with article plugin code)

At your example URL there are JomComments and Jreviews. But it is a little bit strange there are two comments tabs. (posibillity to comment at two places) Confusing for visitors.

Didn´t quite understand what Malto want.

From the site I quoted, JReview is doing the rating parting while JComment is doing the comment and discussion part. There are not conflict and they are fit with my site.

If anyone have any idea/method to integrate them, please help me Huh

Where do you want to integrate them ?
In Joomla articles, in K2, in Sobi2, or ?

I have to write it more clear. I don´t know how to integrate Jcomments directly in Jreviews code.

I know maybe how to integrate Jcomments and Jreviews in Sobi2 (or K2) as separate extensions (two extensions) in two tabs.
It can be styled so it would appear for visitor that it is a compact one script.

I want to integrate JComment with Joomla article system (because JReviews use this to build the tree, can see http://demo.reviewsforjoomla.com/products-reviews/6-computers/85-acer-aspire-timeline)

And then add a tab in the list to place the discussion in the article.

Can you help in the first part for how to integrate?
Also, help to tell me how to place the discussion thread in the article~~

Thanks a lot Smiley

jcomments tag can only be inserted inside the article. I am not sure if there are any codes to change that, but I think thats the only way.
