I found this how-to about sending e-mails from your extension. I was wondering if it could be used to send an email to the author of an article when the article is commented?

Let the author of article post a first comment, and let him subscribe to email on new comments at article, but don´t aprove his first comment in Jcomments admin panel.

And he will get email for each new comment at article, doesn´t matter if his first comment is not aproved. I just tested it and it is working. (his comment won´t be visible and count as first, and spam maybe, at each article)

Figure by yourself how you will find solution between his first comment with aproval and his followings comments without aproval.

Ja, this one was totally stupid of me. He can write first comment as "Guest" and leave his real email adress in email field. And subscribe for article commenting. (If your "Guests" can write comments without aproval, then figure out something smart)

Then he can write visible comments under his registered name.
