Hi there,

I have Jcoments on my joomla website.
And i want to add my members to subscriptions of an article.

The problem is my members are not well know with the internet, so it is to difficult for them to add the subscription by themself.

So is there anyone who has an idee to solve my problem?

The simplest way is make small modification of JComments form and set Notification checkbox to be checked by default.

Open /components/com_jcomments/tpl/default/tpl_form.php and replace:
Code: (php)
<input class="checkbox" id="comments-form-subscribe" type="checkbox" name="subscribe" value="1" tabindex="5" />
with
Code: (php)
<input class="checkbox" id="comments-form-subscribe" type="checkbox" name="subscribe" value="1" checked="checked" tabindex="5" />

After this all users after comment posting will be subscribed to notifications.

This is not exactly what I mean.

My members are mostly older people who only like to read comments.
The problem is they are'nt that handy with computers and they forget a lot.

So what I want is that I can add my self those people to the subscribtion list, of who forget it to subscribe.

(Sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand what I mean.  Smiley)

So you want manually subscribe them to notifications? For comments for all articles or for some? I can add in Subscription Manager function to add new subscription, but in this case you will need input one record for each user and each article.

Yes exactly, I want manually subscribe them to notifications.
It doesn't matter for me if I can so it for all articles or for some. If I already have the option to do one of the two I am very happy. Smiley

You say you can add a new subscrubtion in your Subscription Manager, but where do you do that?
I don't have that function in my backend.

In JComments 2.1 Subscription manager already present but it doesn't allow to add new subscriptions - only edit existing ones. In next version I'll add ability to add new subscription.
