Hi,

I wanna know if I could Use Jcomments with MyBlog.

Like the page said "If you are using a component and you would like to use the JComments with it and there is currently no integration with it, feel free to post your requirement for integration on our forum. " I want to Integrate Jcomments with MyBlog, the developer is Azrul, and the home page is: http://www.azrul.com/products/my-blog.html

I see it has been a while since any comments have been made on MyBlog integration.  The link referred to in the previous post no longer works.

Adding comments to MyBlog is at this time my primary reason for considering JComments--everything else on my JomSocial site already has the ability to comment via walls or forum.  I am not too impressed with the JomComments add on component to facilitate MyBlog commentary.

Are there any answers that work with the current versions of JComments & MyBlog?

I've made integration for one of the latest builds of MyBlog but did't translated it to english. You could use Google Translate (from russian): http://joomlaforum.ru/index.php/topic,41316.msg703665.html#msg703665

I gave up for a number of reasons...   Sad

MyBlog is moving towards two years without any sort of update.  The CSS is not written that well even for the time is was released--and trashes out very easily when using newer templates--and almost guaranteed when using a Rocket Theme template that employs the Gantry framework.  Lots of bugs--and the load order of the libraries and scripts (now outdated) can cause multiple errors, warnings, and issues depending on when it was installed in the site DEV cycle.

As everyone soon discovers, some hacks to core JomSocial files are necessary to try and get full integration with JS--ones which are erratic at best in whether they will function or simply cause errors that result in blank pages instead of your site!  Review the forums at jomsocial.com for many details.  Not a lot of support for it is found there--and what support exists on the azrul.com site has been abandoned or is neglected.  With all this in hand and after a month of fooling with it my decision was to go with EasyBlog.

The developers there and here have gotten the integration working solidly--without the use of hacks or the need to change any core files.  It is all done through plugins and interfaces.  This way upgrades to either EB or jComments do not require re-hacking and the extreme likelihood that the new versions will no longer work with older hacks.  If you have any sort of membership to a community that is something that you do not want to happen.
